ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday told the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that next general elections would be held under old constituencies because census were not held in the country since last decade.
The Secretary Election Commission told that the Chief Election Commissioner would issue new voters lists on Tuesday. He said that new constituencies could not be formed because summary of census was lying before the Council of Common Interest and it did not decided about the census.
The PAC met here under the chairmanship of Nadeem Afzal Gondal.
Members of the committee Begum Yasmeen Rehman, Noor Alam Khan, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Shahnaz Sheikh, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Hamid yar Hiraj, Saeed Ahmed Zaffar and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri were also present on the occasion.
Discussing the Audit paras of the Establishment Division, the committee sought list of Officers who got training abroad and details of courses.
The committee also directed Establishment Division to amend laws of pension rules which abandons action against officials misappropriations after one year of their retirement and summoned details of blue eyed officials who got extension in employment after retirement within six weeks.
Secretary Establishment told the committee that Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) members draw salaries equal to state ministers and avail unlimited fuel.
Nadeem Afzal said that they should be called as ministers.
Secretary Establishment Division told the committee on the audit point that 186 Officers were sent abroad on training and Rs 20.6 million were spent on their training.
He said that so far 363 Officers got training from abroad and added that the program was initiated by the approval of ex-prime minister.
The Audit Official pointed out that six Officers did not submit their degrees.
The committee directed that the recovery should be ensured from the officials and submitted report within 15 days.
