Rain forecast in parts of Punjab, KP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast rain in various parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces from today.

According to Met office, seasonal low lies over Northwest Balochistan and adjoining areas. Monsoon currents are penetrating into most parts of the country.

A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 48 hours.

Rain and thundershower with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions during next 24 hours.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,rain with thundershower is forecast at scattered places of Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar and Kohat divisions during next 24 hours.

Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the Sindh during next 24 hours.

In Balochistan, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the province during next 24 hours.

Rain and thundershower with isolated heavy falls is likely at scattered places of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during next 24 hours.

Yesterday's highest maximum temperature recorded in Turbat and Dalbandin,43 C, while maximum temperatures of other cities: Islamabad 35, Karachi 32, Lahore 36, Peshawar 39, Gilgit 39, Quetta 38, Muzaffarabad 36, Murree 23, Multan 38, Faisalabad 40.

Rainfall recorded during last 24 hours: Murree 23, Muzaffarabad 14, Garidupatta 12, Malamjabba 06, Kakul 03, Bunji and Astore 01 mm.
