Rehman orders fool-proof security for Independence Day, Eid

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik Monday ordered the IGs of Islamabad and the four provinces as well as the home secretaries to put in place arrangements to ensure fool-proof security on the occasions of Independence Day and Eid-ul-Fitr.

Addressing a high-level meeting here, Rehman Malik directed to ensure implementation of the existing security plan on the said occasions.

He ordered to beef up security at government buildings, railway stations, airports, public places and venues of Eid prayers.

The Interior Minister ordered the IG Islamabad to step up security in red zones and diplomatic enclave besides firming up the mechanism for checking at entry and exit points of the capital city.
