SC orders payment of unpaid salaries to LHWs

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has issued directives to the concerned authorities to release three unpaid salaries to Lady Health Workers (LHWs) before Eid-ul-Fitr and sought a reply from the Federation and Provincial governments in connection with the regularization of their services.

A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammd Chaudhry heard the case pertaining to the regularization of services of LHWs.

Deputy Attorney General told the CJ that a summary regarding regularization of LHWs had been forwarded to the Prime Minister.

The Chief Justice said in his remarks that the LHWs had not been paid salaries for three months and ordered payment of the same ahead of Eid.
