ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Wednesday said that the apex court would continue to discharge its responsibilities without fear or favor.

Addressing an Iftar-dinner hosted by the Supreme Court Bar Association, the Chief Justice said court cannot be prevented from dispensing justice through attempts to prove individuals or institutions weak.

"The Supreme Court will continue to pass judgments in accordance with the Constitution, no matter if the sky falls down," he said.

The CJ said that it be ensured that other institutions also function within their Constitutional parameters.

"Judiciary is a vital state organ and it is performing its duty in the light of the Constitution," he said, adding the Supreme Court takes guidance from the Constitution and law.
