KARACHI: Around 500 Pakistanis deported from Oman have arrived at Ghass Bander Kemari, Geo News reported.
According to Karachi Port Trust (KPT) spokesman, the deported Pakistanis arrived at Ghass Bander where they are being investigated by the FIA officials.
Customs officials are scrutinizing the deportees at the Ghass Bander, the spokesman added.
Earlier, the Government of Pakistan taking notice of ‘Geo News’ report on 500 Pakistanis deported from Oman, allowed them to enter Pakistan.
Federal Minister Babar Ghauri had said that the deported Pakistanis would be brought to Ghass Bander Kemari where FIA would take full care of them.
Meanwhile, Incharge FIA Ghass Bander Rehman Domki said all the arrangements have been finalized for the immigration of Pakistanis.
It may be noted here that more than 500 Pakistanis were deported from Oman in a boat namely Al-Basit. The vessel was stopped when it entered in Pakistani sea limits.
Talking to Geo News via telephone, one deportee Iqbal Shaikh said that health condition of several passengers on the boat had turned bad while they had run out of medicines.
The government took notice of the matter after the report was aired on Geo News.
