HYDERBAD DECCAN: New Zealand have followed-on on the third day of the first test against India here on Saturday.
Resuming their innings at the overnight score of 5-106, New Zealand seemed helpless against the off-spin of R.Ashwin and was bundled for 159, 279 short of India’s first innings total.
Ashwin produced career best figures of 6-31to destroy the Kiwi batting line. Left armer P.Ojha who finished with 3-44 ably supported him.
Hoping to fare better in the second innings Newzealand lost Martin Guptil early before rain forced an early closure of play.
Newzealand face an uphill task, still needing 138 runs to avoid an innings defeat with 9 second innings wickets intact.
