ISLAMABAD: The finance ministry dismissed the advice of petroleum adviser Dr. Asim Hussain and decided to transfer the full POL price increase to the consumer.

According to a notification issued by OGRA, the per litre price of petrol will increased by Rs7.77, diesel by Rs 5.94, high octane Rs8.18, light diesel Rs5.54 and kerosene oil by Rs5.86 per litre.

The government is set to increase Petroleum, Oil, Lubricant (POL) prices on the pretext of a hike in international oil price. The government has decided to review petroleum product prices on a weekly basis, instead of fortnightly.

The increase will be implemented on September 1.
