POL price spike takes rickshaw driver’s life

FAISALABAD: A rickshaw driver who attempted to kill himself by consuming acid after the most recent spike in the petroleum prices died in the hospital after fighting for his life for hours, Geo News reported.

A resident of Faisalabad, Mushtaq Ahmed, who had already been depressed owing to his dwindling income, could not take another blow to it.

Poor Mushtaq, out of desperation, drank a good deal of acid to end his life, but it did not kill him instantly. He was rushed to the hospital where medics tried their best to save him but to no avail. He died a painful death.

He left behind a widow, two sons and two daughters.
