NOWSHERA: Ameer Jamat-e-Islami, Syed Munawar Hasan has strongly condemned the government’s decision of holding Local Government (LG) polls before the general elections, adding the former could impact the latter.

Addressing a public meeting here and later talking to media men Munawar Hasan accused President Asif Ali Zardari of using LG elections in a bid to extend current assembly’s term and for being reelected as President of Pakistan by the same assembly. "He (President Zardari) will try to have influence the process of fair and free elections," he added.

He said that Jamat-e-Islami condemned the 'American policies that our rulers are purusing'.

Hasan further said that his party along with the power of masses will emerge victorious in the general elections and then it will rid the country of 'American policies'.
