LAHORE: CIA police have arrested eleven people allegedly involved in bookmaking in Pakistan and Australia Twenty20 match in Allama Iqbal Town, here late on Friday.
CIA police raided in Defence J block on the information and caught six bookmakers red-handedly. Mobile phones, radio, laptop and television have also been recovered from their possession.
According to the police, the arrested bookmakers included Hassam, Khalid, Ihtesham, Waqas, Israr Ahmed and Waleed Raza.
Meanwhile, police raided in the Gulshan e Ravi, catching five bookmakers and recovering Rs 6 million, telephone set,computer and mobile phones.
Police are carrying out raids to arrest key accused Nadeem involved in bookmaking.
Cases have been registered against the accused.
