KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) Monday issued notices to the ministries of petroleum and finance on a constitutional petition filed against the price-hikes in petrol, oil and lubricants (POL), Geo News reported.

Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto were hearing the constitutional petition here.

The petitioner Rana Faizul Hassan made a plea a that the prices of the petroleum products have been increased by Rs18.88 per litre on average during August 1 to September 1 and this tantamount to economic murder of the masses.

The petitioner, therefore, prayed that the enhancement of the prices of petroleum products be declared void.

The court issuing notices to the ministries of petroleum and finance adjourned the hearing.
