ISLAMABAD: An earthquake of moderate intensity hit parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and the federal capital on late Wednesday night causing panic among the residents, Geo News reported.

No casualties were reported.

According to the Met Office, a tremor of magnitude 4.9 on the Richter scale was felt in Peshawar, Swat, Malakand, Boner, Dir and Gizdar of Gilgit Baltistan.
