ISLAMABAD: National Assembly on Thursday adopted a resolution calling upon the Sindh and Punjab provincial governments to immediately form judicial commission to probe the incidents.
The members through the resolution presented to the House by Law
Minister Farooq H Naek regretted and expressed grave concerns and
sorrow on the tragic incidents happened in Lahore and Karachi resulting into the loss of hundreds of innocent lives and injuries to the persons of many and declares it as national disaster.
"This house calls upon and recommends to the provincial; government of Punjab and Sindh to immediately form a judicial commission to provoke probe into the cause of incident," the resolution said.
It also called upon the concerned authorities to fix responsibility on those responsible for happening of tragic incident for providing insufficient facilities to the employees and not implementing relevant
rules and laws.
The resolution also urged to fix responsibility on government servants for not enforcing and implementing rules and laws in letter and spirit
"There is also need for carrying out necessary legislation if there is
need to do so to prevent future tragedies like this," it added.
The resolution read out by the minister also contained emphasis to order and direct registration of necessary FIR against culprit in order to bring them to justice.
It further recommended granting of necessary compensation to the heirs of those who have lost their lives and those who have been injured in these incidents. (APP)
