KARACHI: The owners of ill-fated factory gutted in Baldia Town, will record their statements before the investigating officer today (Saturday), Geo News reported.

Talking to media outside Sindh High Court Larkana Bench, after the court granted him and other owners of the factory protective bail for eight days (till 21 September), Arshad Bhaila claimed the fire first broke out in the warehouse and he himself called the fire brigade, which arrived about an hour and a half late.

Arshad disclosed that, on that tragic day, he and his brother Shahid stayed out in the burning factory till midnight.

To a question he said that they got themselves bailed to share the grief of their deceased workers families.

Arshad vowed to compensate for the victims according to industry and labour laws.

Earlier, Justice Hassan Azhar of Sindh High Court Larkana Bench on Friday approved Rs.500,000 each protective bail of factory owners Abdul Aziz, Shahid Bhaila and Arshad Bhaila. The court also ordered them to record their statement before the investigating officer today (Saturday) and submit their passports in Sindh High Court Karachi within two days.
