KARACHI: Sindh livestock authorities Saturday confirmed the consumption of the sheep imported from Australia was injurious to health, Geo News reported.

According to officials, random blood and saliva samples of the sheep tested positive for the disease.

“The veterinary diagnostic laboratories in Islamabad an Tando Jam tested the blood samples of at least 80 sheep and the mouth tissue of nine of them”, an official added.

The authorities have warned the contagion was infecting other cattle as well, which could lead to an outbreak of the disease.
