KARACHI: A train collision near Bin Qasim here Monday morning left the guard dead and scores of passengers wounded, Geo News reported.

Karachi Railway DSP said that Shalimar Express rammed into Millat Express near Ghaggar Phatak about 50 kilometers away from here, resulting in the derailment of two bogies of Millat Express and Shalimar Express engine was destroyed in the incident.

Millat Express from Multan and Shalimar Express from Lahore were on way to Karachi, the DSP said.

Karachi Commissioner, Roshan Ali Sheikh said that the reason of accident would be known after investigation and added that apparently it seems to be the fault of train driver.
Police said that railway employee died in the train accident and 18 persons were wounded.

Meanwhile, Provincial Heath Minister, Dr. Saghir Ahmad has declared emergency in all the hospitals in Karachi and all the doctors have been asked to report to their respective hospitals.
