KARACHI: Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) thwarted a bid to smuggle a huge quantity of hashish near Windar in Balochistan, Geo News reported.

According to an official, a special PCG team on a tip-off recovered 597 kilogrammes of hashish from the secret chambers of a truck's fuel tank, which was intercepted on RCD Highway near Naka Khari Check Post in Windar.

On the face if it the truck was loaded with apple crates.

The official added that the market value of the narcotic recovered was estimated to be about Rs1,40,00000.

The drug-trafficker has been taken into custody along with the vehicle.
