LAHORE: India bound Samjhauta Express met with untoward incident when its engine caught fire near Mughalpura station on Monday, Geo News reported.

Railway DSP, Javed Anwar said that the incident occurred near Mughalpura station. The fire brigade staff arrived at the scene and detached the engine from the Samjhauta Express.

The DSP added that altogether there 312 passengers on board the train and they were all safe and secure.

The Samjhauta Express, was later sent on its way to Atari, with a substitute engine.
