LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)’s row has once again intensified, as the latter has frozen the account of PCB over non-payment.
Sources said that PCB has an outstanding amount of Rs30 million on account of withholding tax, while FBR taking action frozen their account for non-payment.
PCB spokesman said that the due process of law was not fulfilled for freezing the account, 15 days notice should have been issued, which the FBR didn’t do. He further said that the withholding tax was not levied in accordance with the law and an objection has already been raised against it.
