Lahore: Three of a family crushed to death as house topples

LAHORE: Three of a family died after a house caved in here on Wednesday, Geo News reported.

The unfortunate family of seven had rented the house, in Rana Town, Hunjerwal area of Lahore, just a day back.

According to police, the parents and a child, who were in the house died when the roof came down crashing on them leaving the four other children who were fortunately outside to mourn.

The other four children who were fortunately outside the building were left to mourn their parents and sibling.

Police and the local rescuers reached the scene but it was too late for the one who were buried under the debris.

DCO Noor-ul-Amin Mengal also inspected the collapsed house.
The landlord has been arrested for the house he let the unfortunate family in was poorly built with substandard material that too following an unauthorized blueprint.

Among the dead were the head of the family Babar, his spouse, Mussarat, and an infant Saif.
