LAHORE: A delegation of Indian lawyers arrived here on Saturday via Wagah border to discuss with jurists ways to promote friendly relations between the two nations.

A 110-member delegation led by President of International Council of Jurists Adish C Aggarwala and including members from All India Bar Association, will meet chief justice and judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

In a statement, Aggarwala said that the delegation would also hold meetings with jurists of Lahore High Court, Islamabad High Court, lower judiciary in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Nankana Sahib.

"The Indian jurists are of the view that the people of this region should accept the Line of Control (LoC) as an international boundary for prosperity because both countries were spending too much of their budgets to protect themselves from each other," he said.

These funds can be utilised for covering basic necessities like education, medical facilities, roads and communications, he added.
