DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s peace march against US drone strikes has reached Tank area after removing the containers that were placed at Manjhi Khel check post, Geo News reported.

The peace march is headed by Imran Khan among various central leaders of the party.

On Saturday, the PTI's peace-march caravan, which consisted of scores of vehicles and hundreds of activists, had kicked off from Islamabad for South Waziristan and reached Dera Ismail Khan on Saturday evening.

After the caravan reached in Dera Ismail Khan‚ the district administration has tightened security in connection with the PTI march. In the meantime, a red alert has been declared in Tank as part of arrangements to provide security to the participants of the march.

Addressing the people gathered to welcome the march‚ Imran Khan said the peace march is aimed at showing solidarity with the people of the tribal areas. He said we are trying to save the people of the tribal areas from the harms caused by the drone attacks.

Imran Khan along with other leaders of PTI stayed in Hathala, a suburban town near DI Khan, for night and re-start their march towards their destination on Sunday morning and reach Tank.

On the other hand, DIK DPO, Sohail Khalid said that some terror threats to the rally exist.
