Extortion: Firing on private Co. bus

KARACHI: Armed motorcycle riders opened fire on a private company bus carrying its employees for not paying the extortion money, Geo News reported.

According to details, four motorcycle riders targeting the employees’ bus of a private company manufacturing sanitary fittings and tiles opened fire near ‘Chungi Mor’ on Manghopir Road, which injured two employees of the company.

Following this incident, the employees of the company and the residents of the area staged protest demonstration against the extortionists, torched tyres, voiced slogans against the police and blocked the road.

Talking to Geo News, they said that a defunct organization had demanded extortion money from the owners of the factory and on non-payment they targeted the bus. The demonstrators demanded from the law enforcing agencies to arrest the culprits and provide security to the company employees' bus.
