ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Wednesday alleged that the government wanted to postpone the general elections on the pretext of launching a military operation in North Waziristan Agency, Geo News reported.
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House here, Nisar said his party Pakistan Muslim League-N has decided that it would not support the bill on dual nationality in any case and the ruling of the Supreme Court in this regard would be implemented.
"If the government tried to legislate over dual nationality in the Parliament, we will not support such a move. This matter has been buried for good," he said.
He said the PML-N has proposed to allocate seats for overseas Pakistanis. However, it has been decided that dual nationality holders not be allowed to be part of any department, he added.
Chaudhry Nisar termed the proposed Accountability Bill as a 'tool to legalize theft and robberies' and such a bill could never be supported.
Referring to government's intention to present yesterday a resolution in favour of a military operation in North Waziristan, Nisar said the entire humanity is in grief over the attack on Malala but the government should clearly identify the elements against whom it wants to take action. "Who are those people?"
"Pakistani Taliban are divided into various groups. There are some with whom the Army entered into agreements. There are other Taliban in Pakistan who have links with India," he observed.
However, he added, that 'good Taliban and bad Taliban' represents a US view and he did not think that way.
"Those committing terrorist activities are criminals elements who are using the name of Taliban," he believed, adding the actual Taliban are in Afghanistan.
Chaudhry Nisar said that an operation in North Waziristan would make Pakistan further insecure.
He said the government wanted to create a situation to push the elections ahead.
Nisar, however, said that anyone who attacks innocents is his enemy too.
He said the resolutions in connection with drone strikes and Abbottabad Operation failed to produce any result. "This resolution is also a joke," he regretted.
