KARACHI: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) associations are divided over the latest slash in the prices of commodity that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notified in the wake of a Supreme Court decision, Geo News reported.

According to sources, Central Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA), Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, has refused to accept the decision, whereas the chief of CNG Station Owners Association, Malik Khuda Bux, has accepted it.

Commenting on this sweeping slash, Paracha said it was tantamount to forcing the CNG sellers out of business.

He alleged that OGRA had violated the court’s decision.

“No CNG outlet can survive by bringing the operational cost down to zero. OGRA has isinterpreted SC’s order,” said Paracha while talking to Geo News.

On the contrary, as well as surprisingly Malik Khuda Bux’s was a positive reaction in view of the fact that SC decision has manifested a drastic reduction in CNG prices.
