ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) resumed hearing of the Balochistan law and order case Wednesday where the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked that the Balochistan government has lost its power and everyone is busy in violating the Constitution, Geo News reported.
The chief justice is presiding over a three-member bench, including Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, which is hearing a petition on the Balochistan law and order situation filed by the Balochistan Bar Association.
During today’s hearing, the Chief Justice instructed the additional advocate general Balochistan to get in writing from the Chief Minister Balochistan and Chief Secretary that under what authority and law is the Balochistan government operating when the Constitution is not in effect.
Chief Justice Iftikjar Chaudhry expressed his displeasure over the failure of Interior Secretary KM Siddiq Akbar to submit a report on the province’s law and order situation.
The court, then, summoned the interior secretary to appear before the bench in 30 minutes time.
