ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party leader and senior lawyer Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has criticized the Supreme Court judges for what he said undue use of suo moto action, Geo News reported on Wednesday.

Speaking to media, Ahsan said that right of appeal was also abolished following the suo moto proceedings, adding that in some cases the judiciary considered itself the most powerful.

The PPP Senator, who had played a key role in restoring the deposed judges of the Supreme Court in Musharraf regime, said that decision over CNG price had benefited those who consumed petrol while the apex court decision on sugar was also not in favour of economy.

Answering a question regarding Supreme Court ruling in Asgahr Khan case, Ahsan said action should also be taken against those politicians who received money.

He wondered that those lawyers who offered prayers behind the Dogar had now become champion lawyers movement.
