KARACHI: At least 24 people have been killed in various incidents of firing and violence in the metropolis, a day after announcement of the Sindh government for banning pillion riding.

According to the police, a man, identified as Ajmal Khan, was gunned down in a firing incident in Metroville area of the city late on Saturday night.

Meanwhile a bullet-riddle body of a man was found in Sarafa Bazar of Meetha Dar.

In an another incident, a man was shot dead while five others sustained injuries in Liaquatabad FC Area. Asad Raza, son of the slain IB official Qamar Raza, was also among the injured people who succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Qamar Raza was also shot dead in the same area few months ago.

Earlier, 20 people including a police official and an office bearer of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat were killed in violence incident.

Governor and Chief Minister taking notice of the law and order situation in the city summoned report from IG Sindh and DIG Rangers and directed them to control the situation immediately.
