Rs3.6 million bank heist in Karachi

KARACHI: Some unknown armed persons robbing a bank at Gulistan-e-Jauhar successfully escaped from the scene on Wednesday here, Geo News reported.

SIU SSP Faruque Awan said that five gangsters armed with TT pistols barged into a bank this morning, hammered the bank guards to overpower them, took hostage of the bank staff and looted about Rs3.6 million.

Awan said that the identification of the culprits would be difficult, as there has been no tradition in National Bank branches to install CCTV cameras.
