PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the US and its allies should pull out their forces from Afghanistan as per schedule so that political process could be initiated to stop potential civil war in the country, Geo News reported on Monday.

Addressing a tribal Jirga in Peshwar, the maulana said that peace could be established in Afghanistan only after US drawdown.

Fazl said that Pakistan had been facing unrest for the last 12 years due to flawed policies of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.

He said religious parties were held responsible for suicide attacks in the country despite the fact that Ulema declared them in violation of religion.

The JUI-chief said that taking tribal Jirga into confidence was vital in deciding the future of the tribal people.

He called for uplift of tribal people and said it was government’s responsibility to announce facilities for them.
