GILGIT: A pillion riding ban has been imposed in Gilgit city, Geo News reported.
Only and only law enforcement officials would be exempt from this ban.
According to Deputy Commissioner Arqam Tariq, the ban was imposed as a security measure in view of a Moharram-ul-Haram procession to be held in a suburban town, Nurpur.
The ban is for everyone including journalist, he said adding the violators would be dealt with strictly.
“Only securitymen would be exempt from this ban”, said he.
The citizens have been asked to cooperate with the law enforcing agencies.
