LAHORE: Clerks from different departments of Punjab ended their protest in the midnight after getting assurance from the government that their demands would be met, Geo News reported.

The clerks staged sit-in outside the Chief Minister House which ended only after Additional Secretary Punjab Mukhtar Masud held negotiations with their representatives and assured them of fulfilling their demands.

All Pakistan Clerk Association leader Arshad Muhammad Chaudhry demanded that daily wages clerks be regularised. Beside, TADA and conveyance allowance should also be given to the clerks whose services were transferred to the provinces after the passage of 18th amendment to the Constitution.He warned of a province-wide strike if their demands were not met.
