ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has decided to move forward the names of MPs, who have not submitted their affidavits over dual nationality, to Supreme Court, Geo News reported.
Talking to ‘Geo News’, Secretary ECP Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan said the commission had sought affidavits from the MPs as per the directions of the apex court, adding names of those who have not submitted their sworn statements would be sent to SC.
Ishtiaq Ahmed further said ECP would also review the matter of those MPs who did not submit affidavits and have tendered resignation over dual nationality. Decision on it would be made as per the law and constitution, he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that ECP has not received affidavits of 16 members of Senate, National and Provincial Assemblies despite ending of 30th November deadline.
