CJ stresses lawyers’ role in dispensation of justice

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhdry has said that lawyers will have to play their role for rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution, Geo News reported on Saturday.

Speaking at a ceremony in connection with the enrolment of lawyers, the CJ said that the judiciary had given historical verdicts, adding that the rulings of the independent judiciary were based on the principle that nobody was above the law.

He noted that the lawyers had equal role in dispensation of justice. The CJ added that the judiciary gave historical decisions and the time had to come recognize the change.
