ISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner, Adam Thomson Tuesday said let the London police do its work on Dr Imran Farooq's murder case.
Talking to media persons here, the British HC said the statement of London police should suffice in connection with where it carried out the raid in London.
Dr. Imran Farooq, one of the founder leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), was found dead with multiple stab wounds outside his house in central London on September 16, 2010.
The British HC further said that he had no specific knowledge in connection with the raid carried out at a 'business address' by London police as part of its ongoing investigation into the murder case of the MQM leader. In Britian, the police function in a free and independent manner, he added.
He said the British police was conducting the murder probe of one of the UK's citizens and it is not the job of the British government but of the police.
Commenting on the political scene of Pakistan, Adam Thomson hoped that the general elections will be conducted on time and will be acceptable for all. Another civilian government will take over the reigns of government in Pakistan following the polls, he continued.
He said the future of democracy in Pakistan looked promising and that 'we will have to observe patience in the ups of downs of democratic dispensation in Pakistan'.
The British HC said it took a centuries-long process for the democracy to strengthen in Britain.
