ISLAMABAD: Law Minister, Farooq H Naek Tuesday said the announcement of the next general elections will first be made by President Asif Ali Zardari followed by a formal announcement to this effect by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Talking exclusively to Geo News, Naek said the President will announce the elections first under section 11 of The Representation of the People Act 1976. "The Election Commission will announce the holding of elections after the President's announcement," he added.

The Law Minister said the Fair Trial Bill 2012 will be tabled before the Parliament next week. The standing committee has approved the sections of the bill with majority, he added.

According to the bill, five organizations will move the application for identification of the act of terrorism. The application endorsed by the head of the organization will be submitted to the High Court of the concerned province.

The SMSs, emails and voice of the individual involved in terrorism will be put through a process of examination. The Federal Government will issue the notification for appointing an organization that is fit for this job.

The evidence relating to the phone calls, SMS, emails and voice will be considered as acceptable.
