KARACHI: The houses of two transporters, who refused to pay extortion money, in New Mianwali Colony on Manghopir road, were attacked with hand grenades, Geo news reported.
According to the police, more than eight nearby shops and a mosque was damaged due to the grenade attacks while glasses of nearby houses were also smashed into pieces.
The first attack occurred outside the house of a transporter Haji Ritaas Khan Niazi. He told Geo news that the extortion mafia called him via telephone 20 days ago and demanded extortion.
The transporter said the criminals attacked his house because they refused to pay extortion money to them.
Second attack took place outside the house of another transporter and former UC Nazim Haji Aurangzeb, who was demanded to pay Rs 5 million.
