ISLAMABAD: The Senate’s Standing Committee on Finance met Nasir Jalil in the chair on Wednesday, Geo News reported.

Those who attended the meeting included, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussai, Kamil Ali Agha, Ishaq Dar, Jahangir Badar, Farhatullah Babar, Ilyas Bilour, Haji Adeel, Kulsoom Parveen, Tahir Mashadi, Usman Saifullah and Haji Ghulam Ali.

Participants of the meeting termed publication of a report regarding the alleged tax evasion by the parliamentarians as a move to vilify the country. However, they agreed they should become a role model for the nation and called for the release of a tax directory about the parliamentarians.

Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that the parliament and the politicians were defamed through the issuance of the ‘wrong report’.

Nasrin Jaleel said that the media was maligning the parliament. During the meeting Senator Ishaq Dar of PML-N and ANP’s Haji Adeel contradicted each other with PML-N lawmaker declaring parliamentarians’ tax details public property while the latter claiming them as confidential.
