PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister, Mian Iftikhar Hussain Thursday said the terrorists caused maximum damage to girls' schools and when Malala raised her voice for girls' education, she was also attacked.

Addressing a programme at a private school, Mian Ifitikhar said no progress could be made in the absence of education. "I want to see kids holding a pen rather than a gun," he added.

He said the terrorists are against pursuance of education in general and for girls in particular. "The highest number of schools that were attacked in Khyber Pakhtunwah were those of girls, so that this nation is kept illiterate and backward," he added.

Mian Iftikhar said the followers of Bacha Khan will carry on the mission of Malal, Kainat and Shazia at all cost.
