LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain Sunday said his is a pro-democratic party and it will keep the struggle on for a genuine democracy in Pakistan.
Talking to the office bearers and workers of People's Youth UK, Altaf Hussain said although attempts were made to pitch MQM against People's Party and conspiracies were hatched to dissolve their alliance, his party did not part ways with President Asif Zardari and the democratic journey kept on making progress.
"We believe in democracy, so we will continue to play our role towards upholding the democratic process in the country and its promotion," Altaf Hussain pledged.
The delegation People's Youth comprising its Chairman Naeem Abbasi, General Secretary Riaz Kamrio and other office bearers acknowledged MQM's role for the cause of democracy.
"We value the sacrifices you made for the survival of democracy in Pakistan and the way you stood by President Zardari in his times of trial," they added.
