Motorway closed due to dense fog

ISLAMABAD: Lahore-Peshawar and Kot Momin to Faisalabad Motorway has been closed for vehicular traffic due to thick fog, Geo News reported.

Air traffic at Islamabad airport has also been suspended due to the fog.

The Motorway Police said that the highway had been closed as visibility level dropped to zero. The motorway would be reopened for vehicular traffic after visibility improvement, they said.

The police urged drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights. They also requested people to stay home and avoid unnecessary traveling.

Severe cold weather has been gripping parts of Punjab with dense fog and also causing problems for travelers for many days.

According to met office, the cold spell would continue for some days.
