Young Doctors go on strike

LAHORE: The young doctors have announced protest at the OPDs of the government hospitals, Geo News reported.

However, the administrations of the hospitals called in senior doctors and the medics recruited on contract to discharge duties at the OPDs. Police have also been deployed at the medical facilities to thwart any untoward incident.

Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) Chairman Hamid Butt said the protest would continue until the government stops penalizing doctors. He alleged that the administration had confiscated tents brought for setting up camps.

The provincial health department said the OPDs were open for the patients.
