ISLAMABAD: The intense cold wave due to on-going rain spell continues to grip most parts of the country and increased chill in the weather.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the intense cold weather conditions will prevail during the whole week and dense foggy conditions will also engulf different parts of the country after rain.

The winds blowing from Siberia have turned their directions toward Baluchistan and Sindh which has further added chill in the weather.

The met office indicated chances of rain at Northeast Punjab including Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours.

Shallow foggy conditions are likely over few plain areas of Punjab during late night and early morning.In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected at isolated places whereas cold and dry weather is expected in other parts during next 24 hours.

Mainly cold and dry and partly cloudy weather is expected in most parts of Sindh during next 24 hours. Shallow foggy conditions likely over Sukkur division during late night and early morning.

In Balochistan, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts during next 24 hours.In Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places during the next 24 hours.

The lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Kalat -13C, Quetta -11 C, Kalam -9C, Dalbandin -7C, Malamjabba and Gupis -6C, Hunza and Skardu -5C.
