PESHAWAR: City police has foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons during a search operation here on Wednesday, Geo news reported.

According to details, during a routine search on Jamrood road, police found a car that was carrying weapons in hideouts. 115 pistols, 12 Kalashnikovs and more than 2000 bullets were recovered while two alleged smugglers hail to Bara area of Khyber Agency were arrested.

The accused are identified as as Idrees and Sanober.

The smugglers were taking weapons to Peshawar from Darra Adam Khel which would be smuggled to Punjab later.
