Landslide blocks river flow in Skardu

SKARDU: Baltistan Commissioner said a massive landslide that fell down into river Baltoro changed course of water, inundating adjacent areas in Skardu.

He said that a 300 x 800 mountain landslide resulted in submerging lower areas, adding that 20 feet deep water accumulated due to the land sliding in some areas.

Local administration said Commissioner Baltistan Division dispatched a team of Construction Department to the affected area.
