Kite-flying string kills seven year old girl in Karachi

KARACHI: A seven-year-old girl died of excessive bleeding after a low-hanging kite-flying string accidentally sliced her throat here on Friday, Geo News reported.

According to sources the blade like thin glass-powder-coated string caught her neck while she was moving on a motorcycle with her father in Nazimabad area.

"They were returning home after feasting their eyes on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi decorations around the city. The poor little girl was riding the motorbike's fuel tank in front of her father when the kite string came for her", sources quoted eyewitnesses as saying.

“The razor sharp string slit her carotid artery. Loss of blood caused her death then and there”, rescue sources said.
