KARACHI: Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Farooq H Naek, Saturday said that every conspiracy to shelve polls would be frustrated, Geo News reported.
“The general elections will be held in due course” said he talking to media after visiting Karachi Bar Association.
Naek warned against any misadventure aimed at putting the polls on the back-burner.
“If any institution, individual, or group tried to cross the line this time it would put the hard-earned democracy in serious jeopardy”, said he.
Lauding the judiciary's sacrifices for the flourish of democracy, he said, all those who were dreaming about postponing polls better wake up to reality as it was the last thing that they would ever see coming to pass as long as democratic forces were around.
In the end he presented the KBA office bearers with a cheque worth Rs15 million.
The law minister also pledged to direct the concerned authorities to expedite the lawyers housing society project.
