ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, expressing his displeasure over Aitzaz Ahsan’s plea for a change of bench, said that he (Aitzaz) has already appeared before the bench-one twice and enquired where was his code of ethics then?

CJ said if this was permitted, then everyone would insist on constituting the bench of his choice.

SC three-member bench headed by CJ Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the LPG quota case on Monday here, Geo News reported.

The plea for a change of the bench was made by an assistant of Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan the attorney of Jamshoro Joint Venture that annoyed the court saying whether one likes it or not, the court would pass an order on this.

The assistant told the court that he (Aitzaz) has already explained the reasons as to why he didn’t want to appear before the bench-one.
Later, the court directing Aitzaz Ahsan to appear before the bench-one went on a break for a while.
