ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Tuesday said Kashmir liberation movement is indigenous and no power on earth can stop the people of Kashmir from their just right of self-determination.

“Kashmir issue is not only a threat for the peace and prosperity of South Asia but also for the entire world and the world should take notice of this vital issue and pressurize India to resolve this lingering issue on the UN agenda according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir,” he said.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan has always supported dialogue with the government of India as wars are not solution to problems, adding that Pakistan is a peaceful nation and wanted good and peaceful relations with all its neighbours.

He said Pakistan believes that the use of force, coercion and violation of basic human rights can never succeed in suppressing an indigenous struggle for a just cause. Their perseverance will bear fruit, he added.

“My message to the world is that Kashmir is not an issue between Pakistan and India but it is the issue of 1,600,000 Kashmiri people—a human issue which needs resolution according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir,” the Prime Minister said.

He reiterated that Pakistan will stand by Kashmiris till the realization of their demands for peaceful resolution of the issue and will provide diplomatic and moral support to them.

The Prime Minister assured the Kashmiri People of Pakistan’s continued moral, political and diplomatic support at all regional and international forums till realization of their objective.

The Prime Minister said that the foundation of Pakistan People’s Party was laid by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on the issue of Kashmir and his daughter Shaheed Benazir Bhutto continued her father’s philosophy and highlighted the Kashmir issue at every forum.

He said observing the Kashmir Day (Feb.5) which was initiated by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and now the entire Pakistani nation is united and ready to provide assistance to their Kashmiri brothers in their just right of self determination.

He said President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also raised the issue at every forum and stand by the people of Kashmir in their just right of self-determination.

The Prime Minister said Parliament is a supreme and sovereign institution and any change in the country will come with the will of the people and that is called democracy, which is our destination and revival.

He said that difference of opinion is the right of every person which is essence of democracy, adding, difference of opinion does not mean enmity.

Earlier, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, Prime Minister AJK, Sardar Abdul Majeed, Acting President Sardar Ghulam Sadiq, Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mahmood Ahmed Saghir, Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman also spoke on the occasion and threw light on Kashmir issue.
